New opportunities to perform for our students

With 5-6 performance opportunities every year we have always been a school that prioritizes performance skills.  Starting this fall, we are building on that with our performance matching program.

This program will give our students new options for performances. We will match musicians together to perform on stage at our events. (Don’t worry, we won’t FORCE anyone to perform if they don’t want to.)

“Many students are shy to perform, for the first time especially,” says owner Cathy Hallessey “Matching students together means they won’t have to be alone on the stage, and that reduces stage fright a great deal.”

We expect to be matching musicians for duets, and also musicians with singers. This will give everyone the chance to learn to perform with others and SHINE together.

Traditional-style lessons hope that students will work hard enough to master a song. Our SHINE method is different.

We teach students the discipline needed to confidently perform a piece from start to finish in front of an audience, to conquer their nerves and experience the joy of playing music with others.
