We are looking forward to the new school year and seeing all of our returning and our new students too.

You can rest assured that we have made giant changes to our studios in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Here’s what we’ve done to ensure a safe, vibrant and creative learning environment:

  • We have installed 4 NANOXI air purifiers with true HEPA and NCCO air filtration capacities. The reactor in these units filter and sterilize viruses and bacteria, including seasonal influenza viruses, minimizing the chances of infection in children, the elderly and chronically ill. These units are now running 24/7 in all three U-Rock teaching studios, and in the main entrance/foyer, filtering out 99.97% of respiratory airborne particles.
  • We have installed three 6’ by 6’ transparent wall to ceiling singing shields in each teaching studio. This adds an additional layer of protection for students and staff to control any airborne respiratory spray that might escape masks and allows singers to move their masks below their noses so they can breathe properly during their lessons.
  • The screens are mobile and will be cleaned and repositioned as needed between every student. They will be used as a barrier between teachers and students, at all times and for all students, not just the singers.
  • We are also taking non contact forehead temperature readings of every student upon arrival at the front door. Anyone with a fever will be asked to wait outside until a parent/guardian can pick them up.
  • Sanitizing stations
  • Lysol wipes, BiOSS hand sanitizer and paper towels can be found in both bathrooms that are used by our students. There is an additional sanitizing station in every teaching studio as well as at the front door.
  • Touch-less soap dispensers and paper towels are in every bathroom.
  • Masks are mandatory while indoors – without exception. All teachers at U-Rock will also be wearing masks at all times.
  • Shoes/boots must be left outside at the front door as usual, to avoid bringing any unwanted germs into the house.
  • Students should bring their own water bottles to every lesson. This is mandatory for all our singers.

We ask that parents refrain from entering the school. Your children are safe once they are on our doorstep. Our RING doorbell allows us to keep an eye on them as they enter and exit from lessons. If you ever want to check in with us we are always available to chat by phone or text every week day from 10am to 2pm. No parents, pets or siblings are allowed on the front porch for everyone’s added safety.

There are no exceptions.

While performing live is a HUGE aspect of how we teach your rock stars at U-Rock, we must wait until we get the go-ahead from the city before scheduling public events. We will definitely still have 2 major shows, one in late January and another in June. These may be videos taped at U-Rock during lessons and then shared as a YouTube live concert event. Either way, you’ll get to see your child/teen’s progress throughout the school year.
