U-Rock student wins at the fair

We’re super proud of our student, Katelyn Forsyth, 12, who won a first-place award at Richmond Fair’s Rise2Fame talent contest.

Katelyn sang an original song and played the piano to win the variety/dance category.

Her win marks the third straight year that a U-Rock student has won one of the competition’s major awards. Last year, jack Bayley, 11, won the judges choice award for his vocal performance. The previous year, Rowan Hendrick, age 10, won first prize in the vocal category.

“As MPP for Carleton and on behalf of the province of Ontario, I’m pleased to congratulate you on this impressive achievement,” wrote Goldie Ghamari in a letter to Katelyn. “Your hours of hard work and perseverance have paid off and you have made our community proud.”

Way to go Katelyn!
